Ann Sonnier RN, CHCE Owner/ Administrator —

In 1991 Ann Sonnier RN, CHCE opened AAA Home Health, Inc. and remains its chief administrator.  Mrs. Sonnier, a native of New Iberia, graduated from New Iberia High School in 1962. She has been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and has a vast knowledge of Nursing with a background in Intensive and Cardiac care and also Geriatric care. She was in Management for 12 years prior to opening AAA Home Health. She is a graduate of Lamar University School of Nursing in Beaumont, Texas. She is also certified as a Certified Homecare Executive with the National Association of Homecare. She was voted student most likely to succeed in her Nursing graduating class. Prior to opening AAA Home Health, Inc. she was the Director of Nursing at a local Nursing Home for nine years which gave her a vast amount of knowledge regarding managment issues. Prior to that, her experience was mostly in a Hospital setting in the ICU, CCU and Emergency Room areas. She loves working with the elderly. For several years Mrs. Sonnier had dreamed of starting a Hospice organization to compliment her Home Health. This was done in 2005 when she opened AAA Hospice. She felt that when patient's lives were getting close to ending they would be better managed by specialty staff dealing in end of life issues. Prior to opening AAA Hospice when a patient needed to be transferred to Hospice many did not want to leave the agency they were familiar with so chose not to have Hospice. Now, patients needing the extra services of Hospice are able to stay with the same agency and in many instances their same caregivers in Home Health. This has proved to be a great comfort for patient's and their families.
